Formed in 1988, Koru Care Otago is a Charitable Trust made up of Otago residents. Koru Care Otago is reliant on help from the community to raise the funds needed to make these dreams come true.
On each trip to Australia, Koru Care Otago provides airfares, accommodation, meals, Theme Park visits, medical care and 24 hour volunteer caregivers for a group of 12 children.
A child's smile can turn any bad day upside down. We are committed to those smiles, changing tomorrow by helping however we can today.
Each trip costs about $30,000, much of it fundraised by the same volunteers who take the children on the trips.

Dear friends of Koru Care,
Thank you very much for applying for the 2021 Koru Care Otago trip. We would like to make you aware of some changes to our procedures due to Covid19:
- Koru Care Otago will not be able to go ahead with the 2021 trip if New Zealand is at Level two or above. This is to ensure that we are not putting our young people at unnecessary risk.
- While we aim to plan our itinerary in advance there may be some changes to the plan if businesses have had changed circumstances and are no longer able to accommodate our trip. We will finalise the itinerary in 2021 and will communicate with you directly once we have confirmed bookings.
- Our skilled team takes every precaution to ensure your child’s safety during our trip. Covid19 is no exception to this, and we will abide by all guidelines from the Ministry of Health at the time of travel.
We look forward to receiving your application.

Dear Koru Care Otago supporters
The impact of Covid-19 means travelling to the Gold Coast of Australia this year is not a viable option. Our next trip will be in Feb / March 2021.
We will only travel if the whole of New Zealand is at COVID-19 response Level 1.
If your child is selected to attend the trip in February/March 2021, and we have to postpone, your child remains on the list to travel when we are able to reschedule the trip.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
